The Dennis Hotel was once one of the most magnificent hotels in Atlantic City. Presently it is part of Bally's and is still in use as a hotel. However it had become somewhat rundown and hid behind a series of stores that had been built in front of it on the boardwalk.
Recently Bally's decided to renovate and upgrade the Dennis. This $24M restoration project included tearing down the stores in front of it, thus opening up the Dennis's courtyard to the boardwalk and renovating and modenizing the hotel rooms.

Dennis Hotel - 2009
For many years the Dennis Hotel has been hid behind a row of stores on the boardwalk. As the stores came down the beautiful courtyard of the Dennis Hotel was opened up providing direct access to the boardwalk.
The Dennis Hotel courtyard is now open to the boardwalk.
As of the summer of 2011 the Dennis hotel has a new seafood restaurant, "Harry's," which juts out into the Dennis courtyard.
The Dennis Hotel rooms have been completely renovated and modernized. Every room has a flat-screen television, refrigerators, safes and new bedding, including top-of-the-line orthopedic mattresses with pillowtops for extra comfort and high-thread count top sheets.
In 1921 the Dennis Hotel was one of the most magnificent hotels anywhere.

The Dennis started out as a two-room guesthouse in 1867. It was continually expanded and upgraded until it turned into a 550 room palace.
